Tales of the Tattoo

These permanent designs—sometimes plain, sometimes elaborate, always personal—have served as amulets, status symbols, declarations of love, signs of religious beliefs, adornments and even forms of punishment.” Smithsonian Magazine, January 2007
The Museum of Northern California Art is seeking artwork that incorporates tattoos, as a primary subject matter or as an adornment of subject(s) within the artwork. All media accepted. Deadline to submit is July 28, 2022 by 5 pm.
