Celebrate Red Yellow Blue – monca five years at 900 Esplanade

The Museum of Northern California Art is seeking artwork where Red, Yellow, or Blue is the dominating color of the work. Each of the museum’s three galleries will feature works of one of the primary colors. All media; other colors can be present, but the dominant color of red, yellow, or blue should be readily apparent. The museum’s exhibition committee will make the final selections for the exhibition. The exhibit will be held at the Museum of Northern California Art (monca) at 900 Esplanade in Chico. Deadline to submit is May 19, 2022 by 5 pm.

These permanent designs—sometimes plain, sometimes elaborate, always personal—have served as amulets, status symbols, declarations of love, signs of religious beliefs, adornments and even forms of punishment.” Smithsonian Magazine, January 2007
The Museum of Northern California Art is seeking artwork that incorporates tattoos, as a primary subject matter or as an adornment of subject(s) within the artwork. All media accepted. Deadline to submit is July 28, 2022 by 5 pm.
