Artists Conversation for Safe Haven, Sunday, June 27, 3-4pm

An exhibition takes on new meaning when visitors can listen to and ask questions directly to the artists exhibiting their work.  Join our next live Artist Conversation Zoom event for Safe Haven on Sunday, June 27 from 3 to 4 pm. Details at www.monca.org.

As of today the following artists have signed up to participate: Ruth Hall, Pearl L. Kruss, Gregory Vernitsky, Nimisha Doongarwal, Pallavi Sharma, Judy Kane, Dana Mano-Flank, Tali Grinshpan, and Elvira M. Dayel.

Safe Haven is our current juried exhibition!! It features artists’ sense and experience of a safe space; thoughts on addressing the complex social issues of homelessness; observations that may be tinted by compassion, confusion or personal involvement. This exploration of “home” is conveyed by what makes us feel secure, as well as encompassing the complex social issues of homelessness and feeling unsafe.

Safe Haven turned out to be an emotional topic that produced submissions of immigration, dislocation, a search for belonging, culture shock, detention centers and war.

The exhibition runs from June 10 through July 25, 2021.
