gARTen Summer Camp @ monca July 12-August 4, 2021
A “gARTen” Summer Camp is a summer camp experience for boys and girls ages 9 – 11. It combines art, agriculture and writing to benefit growth and healing after a year of online learning with no classroom contact.
The Summer Camp takes place at the Museum of Northern California Art at 900 Esplanade in Chico and includes several field trips to area farms and ag facilities.
Camp projects have a creative goal and include planting a small garden to witness growth; visiting orchards and farms to create and write; designing a mural for a farm, and preparing fresh vegetables/fruits for snacks & lunches. An exhibit of the childrens’ work will be displayed at the end of each session.
Session I: July 12–14 and 19–21, Monday through Wednesday 9am–3pm
Session 2: July 26–28 and Aug 2–4, Monday through Wednesday 9am–3pm
One session: $250. Both sessions: $450
The camp is open to boys and girls ages 9 to 11. Capacity is limited to 15 students for each session.
CDC guidelines will be followed.
