CALL FOR PERSISTENT WOMEN ARTISTS
The Museum of Northern California Art is seeking original artworks by women for their upcoming juried exhibit: PERSISTENCE.
Exhibition Dates: May 31- July 15, 2018 Museum hours: Thurs-Sunday 11-5
ELIGIBILITY: Original works created in Northern California by female artists residing in Northern California, defined as San Jose and all points north, east and west to the state border. No application fee.
DATES: Entry deadline: May 12, 4 p.m. Jurying notification by email: by May 15 Drop off of accepted works: May 19-20, 24-27, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at monca: 900 Esplanade, Chico, CA Opening reception: May 31, 6-8 p.m. Pick-up times: July 15: 5-6 p.m. and July 19-22: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Up to three artworks per artist may be entered. Submit a photo of each artwork to firstname.lastname@example.org with SUBJECT of the email as “monca Persistence entry.” The photos should be sent in .jpg format, naming the file with full artist’s name followed by # 1-3. Example: patmacias2.jpg The email should contain: Artist name, address, phone(s), email, AND for each art piece: 1. Image number (1, 2, or 3 from the filename) 2. Title 3. Medium 4. Dimensions 5. Date of work 6. Price or NFS.
Any sales by monca will be split 50/50 with the artist. Prices will not be posted in the galleries, but instead on a price list available at reception on request. No work may be removed from the galleries before the close of the exhibition on July 15 at 5 p.m. All accepted works must be delivered to monca ready to hang or display. Works to hang on the wall must be wired. No sawtooth hangers. All works on paper should be framed. Any special display or hanging needs must be described in the application. Artist’s name, phone, and title of work must be on the back of each artwork.
