Call for Artists
Artists working in all media whose subjects include wildlife and habitat along the Pacific Flyway, North and South, are invited to submit artwork for a juried exhibition to take place during Chico’s 2019 Snow Goose Festival in its 20th year. We are looking for work that somehow demonstrates a unique use of materials, subject matter and approach. A jury from the museum’s exhibition committee will make the final selections for the exhibition.
The wildlife exhibit will be held at the Museum of Northern California Art (monca) 900 Esplanade in Chico from Thursday, January 24 through Sunday, February 10, 2019. The formal opening reception is Friday, January 25th from 5 to 8 pm. The reception is a free event for the community at large.

All work must be for sale. Art works, sold and unsold, must remain in the exhibition until 5 p.m. on February 10, 2019.
1. Image files and labeling
Email your images to firstname.lastname@example.org with SUBJECT of the email as “monca Snow Goose Art 2019” High-resolution files will allow us to use them for print publicity.
The email should also contain: Artist’s name, address, phone(s), email address
Images should be in .jpg format, naming the file with the artist’s name followed by 1, 2, 3….etc. Example joesmith1.jpg
For each image, include:
Image number (from the filename)
Date of work
The price listed should include a 40% museum commission.
2. Statement and/or résumé
Include a résumé or c.v. and/or
A brief statement about how the images reference your response to the subject matter and your reason for making the images.
3. Entry Fee: $40 (non-refundable) for 3 images; $5 ea for additional entries
Checks must reach monca by January 9th
Make check payable to monca and write Snow Goose 2019 in the memo. Your canceled check is your receipt

Jury notifications will be emailed on January 8th
The work must arrive ready to show.
Accepted work should be delivered to 900 Esplanade during the following times:
Jan 10-13, 11-5 p.m.
Jan 17-20, 11-5 p.m.
All work must be delivered ready to hang or display. Works to hang on the wall must be wired; no saw tooth hangers. Any special display or hanging needs must be described in the application.
Artist’s name, phone, and title of work must be on the back of each artwork.
Please note: If you are not a local artist or if for any reason you must ship your work, return postage arrangements will be required up front. If the work does not sell, it will be re-packaged in its original shipping materials and sent back to you at your cost.
If shipping the work, please insure it. If glazed, make sure to use plexi-glass to prevent breakage since glass could damage the artwork. The museum will not be held responsible for work damaged in shipment.
