Carlos Rivera, classical guitarist and Chico State and San Francisco Conservatory of Music alumnus, will be performing at monca, Museum of Northern California Art, in the second performance in its Classical Guitar Project @ monca series.
Carlos Rivera developed his love for classical guitar at our own Chico State University where he studied under Toby Roye. In fall of 2014 while completing his studies at Chico State University and playing at local events The Orion stated that Carlos Rivera (was) arguably the “best guitarist at Chico State.” After graduation he was accepted in the master’s program at San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he continued his studies under Marc Teicholz, a first place winner in the Guitar Foundations of America’s annual international competition. Carlos is a highly accomplished player and takes his place among the upper tiers of guitar virtuosi.
