Finding a Home
The Museum of Northern California Art is not currently housed in a permanent location. The collection is stored in a secure location and our mission is carried out through the Mobile Museum program and through various community events.
The Board of Directors is seeking an appropriate location where all of the Museum's activities can thrive: preserving and exhibiting the collection, hosting art workshops and educational speakers, and much more.
The board has been rallying to buy or lease the historic Veterans' Memorial Building at 900 Esplanade in Chico, CA, owned by Butte County. Although it is only one possibility, it has many attributes that would make it a fine home for monCA. As a historic building, it is well known by the local community. It is also near to downtown and many other local museums.
Please note that this is not a certain location, but a dream. The 3D models below give a simplified look into what could be, should this building become our permanent location.
