The Museum of Northern California Art (monca) will hold its final Pop-Up Museum at 215 Main St. during the month of April before moving into its permanent "Pop-Up" museum at 900 Esplanade, the Veterans Memorial Hall in early fall of 2016.
This month-long museum experience will highlight monca's Educational Outreach Program that has been active for four years, and has reached over 1,200 area students by presenting lessons in classrooms, working with the Boys and Girls Club, and using local artists as mentors for the high school experience.
We will be highlighting through exhibitions, photography, student artwork, and student voices the variety of outreach experiences monca has provided over the last four years. We aim to show how museum education supports the school curriculum, enhances creative learning and expression, and increases the experience of student learning and opportunities for career paths in art.
The dates of the Pop-up are:
April 1- 30, 2016
Hours of operation:
Weds., Fri. and Sat. – 11am – 5:00pm
Thursdays – 11am – 9:00pm
- Wednesday, April 13th: Student and Parent opening reception, 5:30-7pm
- Friday, April 22nd: Closing reception, 6-8pm
